Trade Pricing
As a general rule, all products or services within the network, are prices at the regular price of your local currency. For example, I live in Utah and I own a movie theater. The regular price for a movie ticket is $8, so i trade movie tickets for 8 Trade Credits each. This prevents someone from price inflating, allowing us to regulate the pricing.
Discounts
Because trade pricing is set to the standard retail pricing, discount should not be requested. If someone extends a discount, for instance in order to liquidate inventory, then this would be an exception.
Buyers Beware
We cannot regulate every business transaction, so as a disclaimer, us as much caution in your business dealings and transactions inside this network, as you would outside. If you do have complaints about another user, you can contact us to report them. Users' accounts can be terminated for poor business conduct or if we receive too many complaints.
Taxes
In order to preserve simplicity, UWT is NOT a business, does not make profits from users, and is therefore not involved in the collecting and reporting of taxes. UWT is a network of users. If user's feel the need to report their transactions, that is up to the individual user.
Transferring Points
Trade credits are in the form of trade points. If purchasing a product or service from another user, it is customary to transfer points before the transaction. This ensures the seller that you have credits to trade. Transactions can be reversed at the request of the seller. Points can also be transferred later as long as it is agreeable to both parties.
Credit, Debt, or a Negative Trade Balance
In general, we discourage debt. Any attempt of a user to transfer more points than they have in their account will be automatically rejected. In order to be able to purchase in this network, each user has to first sell something or purchase trade credit. Once you have a positive balance, you can begin spending. Exceptions may be made for individual users. UWT can lend points to a user in good faith they will bring their account to a positive balance. As a general rule, all members should have a positive balance before they begin spending.
